Director of New Product Development and Alternate Channels

Position Summary

Responsible for leading the Insurance Product Team in the research, evaluation, development, implementation, and training of new Insurance products and product enhancements. This position will work closely with key internal stakeholders including Finance, Marketing/Strategy, Creative, and Compliance teams to bring to market new Insurance products for Franklin Madison.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Expert in new product development including product research & development and strategic planning, analysis and implementation to support the Insurance organization in the continued growth of products and support trends in the insurance space, including:
  • Expansion into new insurance product lines
  • Tracking industry trends
  • Expanding marketing and distribution channels
  • Monitoring regulatory changes
  • Conducting and communicating competitive analysis
  • As the Product Expert, this role requires an industry presence as well as the responsibility of creating a strong culture of product innovation, testing and learning within the organization
  • Lead research on industry trends, prospective carriers to bring new products to market and to further drive insights for the business
  • Drive strategy and support of the Insurance organization’s efforts to identify and evaluate new Insurance Carrier and Product opportunities
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing Insurance Carriers
  • Collaborate and assist the Insurance Sales and Account Management teams in the development of sales collateral, training materials, and presentations for new Insurance products
  • Manage alternate provider network relationships

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Five to seven years of relevant work experience
  • Life, Accident & Health and Property & Casualty product experience
  • Insurance L,A&H and/or P&C license(s) a plus
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
